Thought Leader Q&A
Thinkers360 Q&A’s profile prominent members of the Thinkers360 community who embody the power of ideas in their work. In this edition, we speak with Rashim Mogha, Head of Product, AAU at Automation Anywhere and eWOW (empowered Women of the World) Founder.
Thinkers360: Tell us a bit about your background
RM: I am passionate about creating business value by driving product adoption.
I am a product management and enablement executive with over 17 years of experience in helping drive multi-billion dollar technology businesses in companies like AWS and Oracle. Being a woman of color, I have faced conscious and unconscious bias throughout my career and have often found myself to be the only woman with the seat at the table. To encourage more women to take up leadership career, I wrote “Fast-Track Your Leadership career” which was #1 Amazon best-seller within 11 hrs of release. While the audience feedback was great, I had to find a scalable model to empower women leaders. That’s why I used my product management, enablement and leadership skills to start the eWOW (empowered Women of the World) initiative in Nov 2018. Within a short span of 7 months, our eWOW podcast now has audience in over 20 countries and Alexa skills are used globally. For my work in empowering women, I was recognized through Women Empowerment-Game Changer award and Silicon Valley Woman of Influence award.
I bring my life experiences and technology leadership stories in my keynotes and speaking sessions on mindful leadership, cloud and AI technologies, learning strategies and power talks at conferences globally. I have spoken at organizations and conferences like Women Transforming Technology (WT2), China- US innovation summit- John Hopkins University, Women Impact Tech, Women of Silicon Valley, Together Women Achieve (empowered by Dell), Moms can code, Oracle, LinkedIn, Pandora Music, and NextPlay. My thoughts on leadership, innovation, women in technology, and enablement strategies have appeared in publications like Forbes, Association for Talent Development (ATD), and Thrive Global. I also coach women leaders and advise women-led startups on customer enablement strategies. My speaking and coaching engagements take me around the world.
Thinkers360: What are your current responsibilities and what’s a typical day look like?
RM: In addition to being the founder of eWOW, I am also Head of Products-AAU at Automation Anywhere, a leader in Robotics Process Automation. So my typical day involves leading and working with a global team to build education products that prepare the world for the future of work. My evenings and weekends are dedicated to eWOW, speaking engagements, writing, and coaching emerging women leaders. I am booked to speak at 2-4 events every month so some time goes in the preparation for those sessions as well.
Thinkers360: What’s the favorite part of your current role?
RM: I love connecting with people, listening to their stories, and empowering them to discover, visualize, and actualize their success. When I can make a difference in someone’s life and help them find solutions, that’s the happiest part of my day. The emails, videos, and messages that I get from emerging women leaders letting me know how my keynote, session, podcast, or book inspired them to take action make all the effort worth it.
Thinkers360: How do you utilize Thinkers360?
RM: I joined Thinkers360 to connect with other Thought Leaders in the industry, build my network, and learn from them. I was pleasantly surprised to see traffic coming to my website through Thinkers360. It was nice to be recognized as a Thought Leader based on my work.
Thinkers360: How do you like to work with brands who wish to engage you as a thought leader?
RM: Diversity and Inclusion is becoming a big part of business in every industry. If you don’t bring diversity of thought into your product/solution design, you are missing out on your market share. I am passionate about teaching leaders actionable steps on how to bring diversity of thought into their solutions, increase employee engagement, and fast-track their careers.
Brands can book me for a keynote, speaking session, or workshop here or email me at rashim at gmail dot com.
Thinkers360: What’s your main advice for upcoming thought leaders?
RM: Thought leadership is disruptive. There will be times when people will not agree with you but that doesn’t mean that you should change your narrative to please others. When you put yourself out there, you have to be thick-skinned. At the same time be flexible. If you find merit in other’s criticism, acknowledge it. We all are continuously learning and one key aspect of thought leadership is to be open, flexible, and share what you learn with others.
