Megatrends 2030
Life, Leadership, and Business
November 21, 2022
This month, I have been busy with various keynotes and speaking engagements like the CXO event sponsored by Boomi where digital transformation, Data, AI, automation, and middleware modernization have been key themes. At these keynotes, I touched upon the 2030 megatrends and this month I will share top megatrends that I think will shape our future. Note that all these megatrends are interrelated and help shape the long-term strategic direction for businesses.

I just got back from Australia. Touched 3 cities (Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane) in 4 days and spent another 4 days in travel. And as much as I dreaded the flights and the risk of contracting covid, I loved the conversations with L&D and business leaders on what keeps them up at night, the key strategic initiatives they are working on, and the innovative solutions they are building.

Technology Needs to be Human

June 15, 2022

DEI is Everyone's business
LinkedIn
February 10, 2022
In this month's newsletter, I dive deeper into one of the Top Trends of 2022 that I shared in my January newsletter - DEI initiatives will no longer be optional and share actionable steps to address this.
Companies know that building a culture of diversity and inclusion is not just the right thing to do but also the smart thing to do. A recent McKinsey study, conducted on more than 1,000 companies in 15 countries, found that companies with gender-diverse executive teams were 25% more likely to outperform financially. And if there was ethnic or cultural diversity among executives in the company, the likelihood of outperforming increased by 36%.

Almost all companies have been running DEI programs for some time now, but the reality is that for most companies these programs haven’t changed the way they think and the way they operate as businesses.
As we celebrate Black History month, let's move beyond lip service and take action.
I invite you to be part of this conversation and share your thoughts.

Remembering Vineet Whig!
linkedin
May 11, 2018
It is almost two years since Vineet Whig left us…Like many of his mentees, his leaving this world was a shock for me. His death made me realize that I needed to live a life of purpose, for myself, for my family, and my friends. I asked myself the question, “what would Vineet do?” and the answer was right there. Vineet would start by reading, by researching. I still remember him talking about the books that he was reading in spite of his 20 hr days at work. So I read and researched and found my mojo in practicing mindfulness. I started practicing mindfulness 2 years ago, made significant changes in my personal and professional life to bring congruence between inner and outer world. The power of positivity is huge. When you start opening your eyes to it, happy encounters happen.

What’s Your Training Strategy?

We all know that a robust training strategy plays an integral role in driving the success of an organization. In spite of this, in my career of over 15 years, I have spent quite a bit of time explaining that training strategy is not a bunch of power points/ videos thrown together to make a “training” for field and customers. There is a lot more that goes into putting together a training strategy. Infact, it is very similar to what engineering teams do to put a product strategy is place.

Fast-Track Your Leadership Career
Women Lead Publishing
September 21, 2018
While American women hold 52 percent of all professional-level jobs, only 20 percent hold executive, senior leadership, and management positions in U.S. high-tech industries. As a woman of color, I know the frustration and devastation of being passed over for a leadership position. And I realized that just exceeding my performance goals would not land me a leadership role. So I created an integrated strategy for career advancement. Fast-Track Your Leadership Career provides a template for creating that integrated strategy. You’ll get concrete examples on how to identify your superpower, build your brand, invest in yourself, navigate work politics, and build a support system that will propel you along the road to your success.

September 28th was an emotional day for me...it was the release of my first non-technical book. It had been over 10 years since my last book. The publishing scene nowadays is a lot different than what it was 10 years ago. The publishers are more experimental, promotions are now done via social media, and distribution through #Amazon..and I was nervous about all this.

Fast-Track your Leadership Career – Based on my #1 Amazon Best Seller!

While American women hold 52% of all professional-level jobs, only 20% of them hold executive, senior leadership, and management positions in U.S. high-tech industries. Research has shown that while women have a potential to be strong leaders, they fail to climb the corporate ladder because they think that by just doing great work, they will be promoted to leadership positions. Not True! This session targeted at emerging leaders cracks the code. (Note: While this session was originally created for Women in Tech, everything we discuss in this session can be used by men to fast-track their leadership career). In this session, I dive deep into 10 key areas where you can focus right now to pave your road to the leadership positions. Click here for sample video.

Building Voice Experiences: Learn to Create Alexa Skills

Do you know that 1 in 6 US adults owns a voice-enabled device? Voice is the new standard- It is estimated that by 2020, over 200 million searches per month will be done with voice. With over 22 million Alexa devices sold in 2017, there is already a massive voice platform that you can use to share your content and programs with the world! In this session, I will teach you how to design and develop voice experiences (or Alexa skills) that engage customers by solving real challenges or entertaining them through delightful experiences. Click here to see my Alexa Skills published on Amazon Store.
