James Kerr

Principal at Indispensable Consulting

Hartford, United States

I help leaders in larger organizations plan and execute critical change initiatives.

If you're a proven leader and want your company to become indispensable in the markets that it serves. You know you can achieve more, but, found that the big house consulting firms are unable to provide the breakthrough thinking that will distinguish your business from the rest -- after all, chances are high that they've already sold those very same ideas to your competitors in earlier engagements!.

That's where I come in.

I specialize in supporting inspired leaders achieve their vision for the future. I do this by co-creating solutions with you and your team of experts that enable your business to become the company customers can't live without.

My expertise includes vision storytelling, strategic planning, culture redesign and the development and implementation of multi-faceted change initiatives. I enjoy forging new ideas and devising practical solutions to your broadly relevant business problems, while shape-shifting them into opportunities for your company's success.

Leadership

One is not a “leader” simply due to title, pedigree or a conspicuous place on an organization chart. I believe, instead, that leaders are built on a foundation rich in character, which enables them to inspire others to follow. Exceptional leaders not only possess the requisite honesty and righteousness needed to gain "followership," but they emanate the hunger and conviction needed to motivate others to do great things.

I speak about leadership mindset, engagement strategies and decency.

Vision Storytelling

From the time that we are very young, stories help us to learn about the world around us. Stories inform our thinking about what is right and wrong. They reinforce the cultural norms and societal values of the places where we live.

It's no doubt, the stories that we are told and read continue to enlighten and reshape our thinking throughout the rest of our lives. In fact, nearly 2/3 of our daily conversations are story-centered .

This is why I believe top leaders need to create vibrant and captivating vision stories as a means to inform and inspire the people hear and read them. I speak about how to do this in ways that inform and inspire.

Culture

If you want to be indispensable, you need the right culture. Period. End of sentence.

Indeed, company culture is the foundation of every business because it determines how people behave. If you optimize the culture and ensure its alignment with the achievement of your strategic objectives, your business performance will improve. Place a value on that and compare it to the cost of cultural transformation and you'll have an ROI that makes the case to invest in culture transformation. It's really that simple!

I speak about how to redesign and optimize your culture -- cultivating a winning organization as a direct outcome.
