Moments the Mattered

When I think back on my career there are several moments that come to mind. In the light of a poster I saw on Facebook the other day I have been thinking about them a little differently. It said, “As I look back on my life, I realize that every time I was being rejected from something good, I was actually being redirected to something better.” My career has seen me being acquired, restructured, reorganized and even reengineered, but I’ve always been able to use that opportunity to land on my feet in a spot that was ultimately better. A big shout out to Stefan Ries, Terry Laudal and Leslie Waltke who when the company I was worked for was acquired by SAP went out of their to keep me at SAP. A BIG thanks to Paul Sakrzewski who opened up a position so that I could move to Singapore. Another shout out to Janet Adie who taught me the importance of using these redirections in a positive way.
