Javier Macineiras has +20 years of experience in telecom & tech and Consulting. Macineiras started his career at Accenture in Spain. As a consultant, Macineiras worked in a variety of projects, from e-commerce, aeronautics to the automotive industry.

He later moved to the USA in 2003 and worked for several telecom and technology companies until 2018. During these years, Macineiras focused on the design, development, implementation and, execution of successful strategies for market and business development in the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East.
Macineiras acquired expertise and experience in consulting, corporate strategy, cross border e-commerce, and digital transformation. He designed, developed, and deployed networks in Brazil and Mexico, and managed regional offices.

Macineiras was trained by some of the best minds in digital transformation and has a successful trajectory transforming and guiding corporations during its digital journey. He graduated from the EMBA program of Kellogg School of Management in the USA and received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with Honors, from Manchester Metropolitan in the U.K.

There is a bit of confusion in the market about the synergies and differences of two concepts whose adoption rate has increased considerably in the past five to ten years. These are Intelligent Automation “IA” and Digital Transformation “DT.”

This article provides my two cents for shedding some light on this topic by breaking the concepts into three areas. 1) differences between “IA” and “DT,” 2) an analogy of “DT” to a tree, 3) the rise of digital banks, and its recipe for success.
