In 2026, I predict that this will undergo a fundamental change. Personal branding will no longer be a choice; it will be a non-negotiable business imperative.

The rise of sophisticated AI has fundamentally changed the game. It is now instant, free, and incredibly easy to generate vast amounts of content—articles, speeches, and even entire programs - that sound compelling but lack genuine intellectual property.

As AI-generated 'workslop' and deepfakes blur the lines between reality and fiction, consumers and clients will become increasingly discerning, demanding verifiable proof of expertise.

The only way to cut through the noise will be to anchor your brand in your lived experience - the who and the why. The leaders who created content, approaches, and unique programs before the AI boom are already ahead, simply because they have a traceable history that AI cannot replicate.

We will see a shift where tangible recognition will become the new currency of trust.

Awards, especially those with rigorous, transparent judging criteria, will evolve from a vanity exercise into a strategic tool for establishing genuine authority. This third-party endorsement acts as a powerful credibility factor that no amount of self-promotion or AI-generated testimonials can match.

Far too many innovative entrepreneurs remain the 'world's best-kept secret' because they are held back by self-doubt and the insidious "itty-bitty-shitty-committee" in their heads.

The future belongs to those who are willing to be audacious—to step into the spotlight and share their story, flaws and all. You cannot leave a legacy or make an impact if you are afraid to be seen.

Authenticity and vulnerability, rooted in real challenges you have overcome (like a learning difficulty or navigating a business crisis), will be what truly resonates and builds connection with an audience.
