Three Principles Book regarding our source of happiness and mental health. When white light shines through a prism, it becomes subdivided into the various colors we perceive. The intensity experienced as we view the colors one by one is significantly less than that of the white light source. The white light source is what all the colors have in common and taking a look there has greater impact. In a similar manner, our experience of life consists of viewing subdivided components of a single source. By pointing out what all life experiences have in common, principles to be discussed in this book take us back to the source from which we can have a profoundly liberating experience.

DISCOVERY MODE - Advancing Mind and Spirit

When we gain understanding, tasks in life become easier, more straight-forward, and the experience is more pleasant. The same is true for life in general. We tend to overlook things to the degree they are present in our lives. Air is a good example. It is with us all the time, but we rarely think about it. There are factors present in our lives every bit as much as air which we also tend to overlook or fail to understand their significance. As we deepen our understanding of them, life becomes the rewarding experience we always hoped it would be. A mathematician, therapist, and sixth degree black belt in karate gives a simple and straight-forward presentation for finding happiness, mental health and spiritual growth. He draws examples from psychology, karate, mathematics, motorcycle riding, physics, astronomy, religion and several spiritual disciplines to distill what are, essentially the central points, common to all of them.

Transcend It!
Book/Amazon
December 31, 1969
When we’re in the middle of “our stuff” and troubled, finding help for ourselves is difficult. If it wasn’t difficult, it wouldn’t be “our stuff”. Newton and Leibniz, encountered difficult engineering problems that were the equivalent of “engineers’ stuff” such as predicting planetary motion, trajectories of projectiles, etc. They developed calculus which provided mathematical principles that greatly facilitated problem resolution.
Those principles applied accurately to all their problems - that’s why we can call them principles.
Principles place the engineer in a position senior to the problems and from which they can readily see what to do. In a similar manner, the field of Psychology now has 3 simple yet profound principles that, regardless of the differences in individual details, accurately describe how our experience of life is formed and consequently provide guidance that expedites the resolution of once painful or troublesome problems.
Understanding these principles alone can return an ordinary and once troubled human being to peace and mental health.

You know, when we first learn basic math like addition, subtraction, etc. we don’t see how incredibly broad the application of this understanding will be in the future. Truly, the understanding of basic math provides a huge foundation upon which so much of life’s activities are built. I have studied karate now for 60 years and have learned basic techniques upon which the more elegant and complex activities are built. Without the foundation provided by the basics, understanding how to address advanced situations would be extremely difficult.
Likewise, there are also a few basic principles (there are only 3 of them, that’s all) that completely, without exception, describe how our experience of life occurs, the source of our peace, love, and happiness, how we might get off track and suffer, and how we can effortlessly return to mental health.
Regardless of your position, activities, or job in life, understanding these principles will enhance your skills and your experience.

Eliminating Stress Modules 1 - 7B

Psychology researchers have gotten too deeply into the details, continue to split hairs, and introduce new disorders. It is like getting stuck on every addition problem not recognizing that all numbers have something in common the seeing of which allows all addition problems to be solved.
The resolution of psychology problems comes from taking a step back and seeing a bigger picture.
All of us have our personal experiences of life each moment of which is composed of multiple factors.
What is important is understanding that, regardless of the details of those factors, the way every experience of life is formed is common to all of us. There are 3 simple yet profound principles that provide this understanding and the grasping of which eliminates stress from our lives.
