Nominations for Awards 2024- CMCE
RSS feeds WordPress
July 25, 2024
I am flattered by the nomination for the CNCE Awards 2024 considering the initial skepticism towards artificial intelligence that existed. Articles chosen underline required changes for consultants. “Embrace AI in Strategic Management” outlines the use of analytics to make decisions as well as develop. “The Death of Management Consulting” on the other hand posits that business models need to be redefined with power given back to customers while at the same time coming up with new competitive strategies. These insights show why consultants need to offer something different from any other profession and show customers how they can always be ahead of their time through reinvention using emerging technologies.

Now with AI, companies have tremendous hype. But business leaders need realistic plans. Achieving true AI benefits happens slowly after thorough, gradual integration.

The future is not humans versus machines in leadership, but rather synergizing the analytical skills of AI with the empathy, creativity, and inspiration uniquely human leaders bring.

Work Too Hard, Burn Too Fast: When Overwork Culture Meets New Workplace Tech
RSS feeds WordPress
February 07, 2024
Many workplaces now demand constant work with no rest. This “always on” culture is unhealthy and hurts performance. Researcher Malissa Clark closely studies work addiction harms in her book Never Not Working. She shows overwork ruins health while not even helping companies long-term.

At the same time, workplace AI promises big gains through automation. But toxic overwork culture clashes with adopting AI. Lacking balance and rest, staff burn out. They cannot gain new tech skills or lead AI humanely.

Companies that want AI success while allowing overwork, are going to cause their own failure. They drain worker health essential for AI guidance. With compassion and limits, people can thrive along with smart algorithms. Visionary bosses must rebuild culture for a bright future.

The Long Road from AI Hype to Reality

Step-by-step training lets regular workers get comfortable with AI. Small successes build trust and skill.

Responsible leaders focus first on growing capability, not just rushing new tech. AI can positively transform business over time without the crash-and-burn hype cycles of the past.
But sustainable change comes through enabling people, not just systems. Progress matters more than predictions.

Stakeholder-Centric AI Strategies-Prioritising Needs and Concerns ( no one left behind)
RSS feeds WordPress
January 28, 2024
Companies today are rapidly developing artificial intelligence systems that impact people's lives in many ways. That's why it's crucial we put the needs of all stakeholders—like employees, customers and communities—at the centre when creating AI. By listening openly to diverse groups, companies can better understand how their AI tools might frustrate or confuse certain users. This allows them to customise the technology to align with human requirements. Continuous engagement enables catching issues early so AI can keep enhancing real experiences. When companies collaborate inclusively with stakeholders for input, they make more responsible innovations that aim to serve people rather than replace them. This co-creation helps ensure AI decisions are fair and benefit society broadly over time. The key is focusing first on those impacted by AI to drive better outcomes for all.

Learning from the Past (Digital Adoption) for the AI Future
RSS feeds WordPress
January 04, 2024
Over the last ten years, adding digital stuff to companies showed important lessons around technology, organisations, culture, and responsible innovation. Now, AI promises big advances, but turning ideas into real solutions faces familiar obstacles that have tripped up past efforts.

Looking at digital history gives an AI roadmap to adopt responsibly. There were overlooked real-world challenges to solve first. AI risks similar issues if focused too much on stats. The key is shifting ideas into solutions that solve actual business problems and help people. Things like training staff, checking data bias, and monitoring impacts matter. If people are informed and involved, AI can progress responsibly. But assuming systems will smoothly integrate risks repeating past mistakes that failed. Keeping humans central just makes common sense.

They should figure out how to use the new free time across departments - like sales learning about customers more or better finance saving costs.
Then, if possible, set goals to achieve hard money targets, like specific amounts of new revenue.

Tackle problems early that would slow success. Also, use AI's help while still counting on people to lead creatively. Getting real about the money automation frees up to earn elsewhere matters.
With a careful blueprint in place at every step, leaders can fully benefit as staff focus on the smartest responsibilities automation now allows.

The approach aims to grow the AI industry confidently. However, complex, overlapping regulations could challenge businesses adopting AI. There are also questions around balancing economic gains versus rising inequality from AI, and managing this complex, fast-changing technology. The AI Act: Do the risk groups make sense to increase trust?

The Act addresses this by requiring human monitoring of high-risk AI and external audits. Enterprise tech buyers in 2025 are shifting toward shorter planning horizons, reflecting caution amid global uncertainty. While interest in agentic AI is high, real adoption lags due to governance gaps, integration hurdles, and a shortage of practical skills. Reports from Constellation Research and PwC confirm AI boosts productivity and pay—especially in digital-heavy sectors—but highlight a growing divide between well-resourced firms and others. Vertical AI use-cases show promise, yet many organisations lack readiness. Success now depends on deeper integration, stronger governance, and aligning people strategies with real-world AI deployment challenges.

I just finished reading Constellation Research’s report on enterprise tech buying trends for the first half of 2025, and I’ve got to say—it really hits on a lot of themes I’ve been seeing in my own work. One thing that stood out right away was the shift toward shorter planning horizons. Enterprises are playing it cautious, and honestly, that makes sense. Between ongoing geopolitical tensions and uncertain market signals, a conservative approach feels more like smart risk management than hesitation.

Agentic AI and the Future of Decision Making: Master or Sidekick?
wordpress feeds
June 28, 2025
Agentic AI and Decision making for manage strategy and operations: what we can or we can't do for risks and competitive advantage. agentic AI—intelligent systems that can autonomously act on data within human-defined goals—should serve as our “decision-making sidekick” rather than replacing us. These systems excel in structured environments by handling tasks like data analysis, scenario planning, and workflow orchestration. But in ambiguous or high-stakes contexts, human judgement—shaped by empathy, intuition, and ethical reasoning—remains essential. Collina stresses the need to bake adaptive leadership, empathy, and robust governance into AI roadmaps. Ultimately, he envisions agentic AI augmenting human capabilities—enhancing efficiency and insight—while humans stay in control, especially when nuance and moral responsibility matter most.

KEY DEVELOPMENTS OF LLMs AND AGENTIC AI-WEEK FROM 9/6 TO 15/6

AI in Action: How We Work and Hire Is Disrupted
Ravi Kumar, CEO of Cognizant, recently commented on generative AI and how much it has helped the firm’s development teams. Juniors have experienced almost 37% increase in productivity, Senior developers have seen an increase of around 17% This shift, says Kumar, demonstrates that AI is actually be breaking down the barriers to entry for early-career talent and brings greater, not less, opportunity to those joining the workforce.

businessinsider.com

What This Looks Like in Practice

Training is important: Entry-level staff still need help and training to use AI tools effectively.

Team roles are being recast: Junior employees are doing more-valuable tasks, with A.I. helping them do it faster and smarter.”

Talent strategies are shifting: Success now requires AI knowledge blended with human creativity — especially among global tech teams.

Capita gets smart about hiring with Salesforce AI
UK outsourcing firm Capita is to launch a new AI recruitment tool created in collaboration with Salesforce’s Agentforce AI. The system does the time consuming work of early hiring tasks like scanning job descriptions and vetting applicants — what used to take weeks can be done in a few hours.

REUTERS

What This Means in Practice

Processes are shifting . Teams can spend more time with candidates and less time on admin.

New roles are on the rise: There’s more demand for individuals who can teach A.I. systems or oversee data during a hiring process.

An understanding of humans is being reinvented: By automating the mundane, we’re making room for more human and strategic decision-making in hiring.

AI Adoption: obstacles and blind spots-A human-centred article

October 20, 2024
Despite the fact that many businesses are adopting AI in their operations, they often have difficulties scaling towards commercialisation due to governance issues, inefficient training, and ethical dilemmas. It, therefore, becomes important for leaders to close this gap by promoting responsible innovation and ensuring that ethical examples are set in artificial intelligence use.
If we must succeed sustainably, then excluding elements such as the role played by middle-level managers in sector-wide training programs and policies governing the use of AI will be difficult.
I want to explore these stumbling blocks while enlightening how people employed could incorporate artificial intelligence that promotes lasting operational efficiency and growth prospects with a strict human-centric focus.

The Future of Resilience: How Generative AI is Revolutionizing Business Continuity
RSS feeds WordPress
September 26, 2024
Generative AI makes companies agile and resilient; instead of reacting to only those problems that have already struck, AI has the ability to predict areas that could give them issues. Therefore, this would be how organisations could solve the challenges even before they had started. This agility makes them fast-changing entities for adapting to situations of risk management, with fine-tuning their strategies along the way to make them competitive. AI also allows scenario planning, enabling organisations to strategize various options and make intelligent decisions for each in advance. Consequently, AI reduces downtime, smoothest out operations, and prioritises what could have been setbacks as opportunities for growth and resilience.

In this piece of mine I would like us to study deeply into these biases so that we can come up with a holistic approach by fusing AI literacy with technical solutions. The AI Frontier: Navigating Growth, Bubbles, and Global Strategies (TWLR in press)
RSS feeds WordPress
August 16, 2024
In the research, the possibility of a bubble in AI is discussed, with reference to the three different contexts, namely: in US, UK and Europe.
According to it, the US seems to be more susceptible to such a case because of the high level of speculative investment, monopolization in the market as well as less stringent regulations. Conversely, the UK and Europe have chosen to be more prudent while adopting AI for practical purposes in sectors such as healthcare, finance and manufacturing.

This confirms that both these regions are safer when it comes to AI bubbles than America since they:
- Showcase varied AI markets
- Concentrate efforts on B2B artificial intelligence products
- Are more cautious due to stronger monitoring framework

It is these features that make progress of European and British industries based on AI more viable and less speculative than what has been happening in America at any given time.

Inclusive Innovation: Strategies to Mitigate Gender Bias in AI (WFR-in Press)
RSS feeds WordPress
July 24, 2024
There are significant challenges that arise from gender bias in this rapidly transforming industry, artificial intelligence . This is due to the fact that only 26% of women hold jobs in this field which results to occurrence of biases through the systems Intersectionality in most cases worsens these for women of color yet they remain invisible without doing so intentionally .
The respective solutions include having framework powered audit on prejudice as well as embracing IBM’s inclusive measures concerning programming language on Artificial Intelligence (AI);Goggle’s ethics regarding Fair AI works; Salesforce’s HR approach focusing on diversity; and finally but not least – continuous track by Microsoft on this matter. Consequently, the gender sensitivity within the development stages has appeared as one of the areas where such developments would be used as tools in promotion[2].Gender biased algorithms used by artificial intelligence lead to injustice against individual people and lose making possibilities due to the absence of viable options from competition as well as stagnant business productivity due to lack of trust among other companies.
Inventing impartial AI technologies is extremely important if justice and functionality are considered significant in their performance.

5 Quotes
New Quote for my New Columnist's role with The Financial Business Review
RSS feeds WordPress
September 05, 2024
This quote can represent the transition from the GARTNER HYPE CURVE when we have left "the hype" level and are now in the Trough of Disillusionment.

Briefly, this phase normally manifests from users, in this case Companies, Users of the first phase of Hype ( excitement interest, investments, speculations) when the exaggerated expectations are disappointed by

low quality

low reliability

of solutions, both from AI core producers, start-ups with their tools and solutions core-products based.

In addition, there are still so many open issues which are not fixed by regulations or laws ( ethics, Privacy, deep-fakes, and this is not an exhaustive list, but I hope it can give an idea.).

For some generations, which have lived the period of the dot.com hype and consequent Bust Bubble

Baby Boomers - born around 1946-1964- during the bursting of the dot com bubble, a large number of them were already at their top positions as managers or in other senior level positions of the IT industry or finance or any other sector affected by the bubble’s effect.

2. Generation X—born between 1965 and 1980—During the dot-com bubble, they were mostly in their 20s until they were 35 years old. Many of them were either launching careers or working at this point and consequently had practical knowledge concerning the rise and fall of tech companies.

3. Older Millennials- born between 1981 and 1986- Some older millennials might have been teenagers or young adults during the dot-com crash, mainly if they were interested in technology since the trends used to exist at that time or had relatives directly affected by the stock market crash.

These generations ( I belong to baby boomers btw) are living this period not with caution but with fear and anxiety, something that doesn't help to examine investigate analyse and evaluate both opportunities, risks but mainly to postpone any of informed decision about the AI adoption to bring benefits to their Companies and employees.

My active role is to bring more elements with publishing in Academic - Busine/academic journals to support with factual evidence what AI can or can't do.

"AI WAITS FOR NO HUMANS"
RSS feeds WordPress
April 07, 2024
AI is growing super fast—really, way faster than other tech ever did before. It keeps getting smarter at understanding data, working faster, and making complex decisions, all by itself. Unlike the old tech, AI doesn't wait for us to catch up, but keeps pushing forward.
AI is intelligent in itself. It learns, adapts, and decides things without our being the one to tell it what to do. That means it will not stop for us just because it might be bringing another big thing that we are not ready for.
In other words, we are going to have to do some serious soul searching in regard to our relationship with AI. In fact, this area needs to be preempted in areas of business and especially health and medicine so that we can realize how to fit AI into our world.
Everybody, not just the techy people, has to stay tuned for AI. It will be essential to ensure that all of us are going to be on board, handling the changes and challenges coming from AI. In short, the watch for AI is going to form such a huge fraction of our life.

Fact-checkers to reduce misinformations with AI

Date : December 03, 2023

Digital misinformation has already affected several areas of human life. In addition to Governances, recognised facts in political elections, and referendums in the recent past, with further AI and ML development that can generate and modify pictures, videos, and texts and create fake news, AI fact-checkers, even with their challenges related to further development and tuning LLM and NLP to a wide number of evidence to be checked, can represent a valuable resource to fight misinformation, in areas like Politics, Academia, Medicine, Health Research, and Business ( Finance, Financial markets, products and services) through a parallel people responsibility to make ethical use of them to ripristinate the ethical value of information.

New approaches for strategy management with AI- the end or refreshing of classic tools?

Date : October 04, 2023

Most companies today still use traditional tools for making business strategies. But in the future, AI could start changing how strategy is done. AI may bring new capabilities that complement classic methods. For instance, AI can rapidly analyse customer data to detect shifts in demand. It can also quickly model different scenarios to foresee market changes. This could make planning faster and more data-driven. However, AI has limits, like lacking human judgment and creativity. So, pure AI-driven strategy may never fully replace human strategists. Rather, the optimal path forward could be combining AI strengths with human strengths. AI may become an enhancement for strategists, not a replacement. The future likely holds a hybrid model, with AI and classic tools working together in new approaches to strategy. However, widespread adoption is still gradual as companies test these uncharted waters. Strategy and Ai.

Small Language Models (SLMs)

Date : February 20, 2024

Smaller AI models cost less money to use. That saves companies money when they use these models. Companies can also adjust the smaller models to be good at certain jobs. So if a company needs an AI to do one specific thing, they can customize a smaller model just for that job. That makes the model work better. Lastly, with smaller models, companies can have tighter control over the data they put into the model. That's important so they make sure their data stays private and secure. Lots of companies want to protect customer data and business information. The smaller AI models help with that.
So the main reasons are: cheaper to use, can be customized to be great at certain tasks and helps protect important data.

The end of AI and ML "back box" with XAI- Explainable Artificial Intelligence

Date : October 04, 2023

ML and AI have been developed to optimise models by increasing accuracy or decreasing prediction error. However, this approach often overlooks the importance of understanding why and how your ML model makes the predictions that it does. Explainable AI (XAI) seeks to increase transparency within artificial intelligence systems by offering explanations of their decisions, thus increasing trustworthiness for individuals using these technologies and increasing human-align decision-making by showing how AI systems make choices and operate. Overall, this XAI initiative hopes to illuminate its "black box", creating more fair, accountable, and human-aligned systems through understandable actions and decisions made by AI systems.

Trust in AI-individuals about trust in AI, and what is expected from employees, managers, executives

Date : October 04, 2023

Right now, most regular people don't trust AI fully. Employees, managers and executives know trusting AI has risks. But some AI can be trusted for certain tasks if built right. More transparency on how AI works is needed to increase trust. With the right trust, AI adoption and new processes can thrive. However too much trust in unreliable AI can hurt accountability and let biases go unseen. The goal is balanced trust - enough to gain AI benefits but still verify its decisions. Increased trust can enable innovation, but blind trust in AI can damage workplace culture.

Increased embodied AI

Date : February 02, 2024

Embodied AI, or AI systems with physical form, will become more common beyond phones and computers. Though some will look human-like, many will likely have unique, engaging designs to make them more relatable and fun. As AI spreads to more parts of our lives through toys, home devices, and more, these creative physical forms will help people accept and bond with AI, despite its flaws. In time, friendly, helpful AI could become a regular part of our homes and daily routines.

1 Risk Factor
Overlooked or delayed because of LLMs race and development

Date : February 20, 2024

Small AI language models today are useful for many businesses to do specific tasks at a low cost. But these small models might struggle to keep up with huge, fast advances in bigger models that have broader abilities. So the risk is that the bigger AI models could start to do so many more and better things that businesses no longer need or want the smaller models. The small AI models may not be able to compete
