Joe is currently the CEO of Spend Strategies. As an experienced business professional, he has served in diverse roles ranging from Marketing and Strategy, to Procurement and Supply Chain. Past leadership titles include Chief Procurement Officer at both Lucent Technologies and Micron Technologies, in addition to other leadership positions as Vice-President Supply Chain Management, Operational Excellence Executive, and Chief Strategy Officer. He has enjoyed leveraging all these past experiences in assisting emerging Silicon Valley software services companies who are building solutions, using new technologies to solve the types of complex, global supply chain challenges he faced as an operational supply chain practitioner. He is an expert in Supply Chain Risk Management. Prior to this role, Joe was the Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer at Micron Technology for 2 years. In this role, he installed a world class procurement structure and directly led development of category sourcing strategies and global deployment throughout the company. From 2010 to 2015, Joe was the Worldwide Operations Chief of Staff and Operational Excellence Leadership. In this role he was responsible for leading supply chain strategy and driving operations excellence within the global operations team. His work here includes establishing and leading governance structure around the companies Operational Risk, Compliance and Sustainability requirements. From 2009 to 2010, he was the Vice President of Global Supply Chain Operations at Sensus, where he established a new demand planning process between sales forecast and demand plan resulting in improved customer on-time deliveries. From 2007 to 2009, he was a Senior Operations Consultant at AlixPartners, a global performance management improvement and financial advisory services firm. From 2000 to 2007, he was the VP and Chief Procurement Officer at Lucent Technologies where he managed an award-winning transformation of a decentralized purchasing function to a centralized, strategic procurement organization with 350 global reports. Joe earned his MBA from Duke University in Marketing in 1988. He graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1982 with a BS in Electrical Engineering.
