CHICAGO and SARASOTA, Fla. - August 6, 2026 - A.J. Rhem & Associates, Inc. (AJRA) and the Knowledge Management Institute (KMI) today announced their partnership to deliver the Certified Knowledge Specialist - Information Architecture for AI Solutions master class. The next live virtual session will be held October 5-6, 2026, and will be led by internationally recognized artificial intelligence, knowledge management, and information architecture expert Dr. Anthony J. Rhem.
As organizations accelerate the adoption of generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, enterprise copilots, intelligent search, and AI agents, many are discovering that AI performance depends heavily on the quality and organization of the information supporting it. Poorly structured content, inconsistent metadata, weak taxonomies, inadequate governance, and unreliable knowledge sources can lead to inaccurate answers, ineffective retrieval, limited explainability, and increased operational risk.
The two-day Information Architecture for AI Solutions program is designed to help professionals address these challenges by establishing the information and knowledge foundations required for reliable enterprise AI.
“Organizations cannot expect AI to consistently deliver reliable and trustworthy answers when the information supporting those systems is fragmented, poorly structured, outdated, or inadequately governed,” said Dr. Anthony J. Rhem, CEO and Principal Consultant of A.J. Rhem & Associates. “This course connects information architecture directly to AI design, implementation, governance, and evaluation. Participants will leave with a practical blueprint they can use to move an AI initiative forward.” |
The partnership combines KMI’s internationally recognized knowledge management education and certification programs with AJRA’s extensive experience in artificial intelligence strategy, information architecture, knowledge management, responsible AI, and enterprise transformation.
The master class moves beyond conceptual discussions of information architecture. Participants will apply course principles to a selected AI use case and progressively create an integrated Information Architecture for AI Solution Blueprint throughout the two-day program.
The program emphasizes the relationship between information architecture and the trustworthiness of AI-generated results, including answer reliability, provenance, access control, explainability, groundedness, and citation accuracy.
Rather than assigning a separate project at the conclusion of the course, the program uses a progressive capstone structure. Each exercise produces a section of the participant’s final blueprint.
This applied format enables participants to translate course concepts into practical decisions, governance structures, and implementation priorities for real-world AI initiatives.
The program is designed for professionals responsible for the information, knowledge, architecture, governance, and business foundations of AI, including knowledge managers, information architects, content strategists, taxonomy and ontology professionals, enterprise-search leaders, data and solution architects, AI product owners, AI program leaders, responsible AI professionals, records managers, and digital transformation executives.
The next virtual class will be conducted October 5-6, 2026. Participants who successfully complete the program requirements can earn the Certified Knowledge Specialist in Information Architecture for AI Solutions credential.
The registration package for new students includes the two-day master class, course workbook, KM Foundation online program, online examination, certificate and digital badge, Knowledge Hub access, and supplemental taxonomy-design training. Previous KMI graduates may qualify to bypass the KM Foundation requirement.
