Adriana Rivas

COO & AI Strategist at Bigwise Corp

Miami, United States

Adriana Rivas is Chief Operating Officer and AI Strategist at BIGWISE Corp, a retail technology company with operations across the United States and Latin America. She leads the deployment of self-service kiosks, POS systems, electronic shelf labels, and digital signage across thousands of store locations. She is also the founder of Biwitech, the hardware line behind that infrastructure, built on the conviction that physical retail technology is the missing piece in most AI conversations.

At BIGWISE Corp, she co-leads the commercial side of SLIVE.AI, an AI-native retail operating system redefining how store-level data translates into real-time decisions at scale. Her book, How to Implement Self-Service Without Failing, reached Amazon #1 Hot New Release and received the Silver Nonfiction Book Award in 2025.

In 2026, she received the Gold Stevie Award for Thought Leader of the Year in Business Products, the only Gold Stevie awarded in that category. Thinkers360 ranked her #7 Global Thought Leader in Retail 2026, and TechRound named her one of the Top 50 Women in Startups and Tech 2026. She holds the Thinkers360 Certified Master Expert designation in Retail.

She serves as a Global Ambassador and Circle Leader for WomenTech Network. Her work sits at the intersection of retail hardware, AI strategy, and the operational realities of scaling technology across global markets.

Retailers Spent 20 Years Competing for the Customer’s Attention. Now They Also Have to Compete for the Agent’s.
ADRIANA RIVAS
August 05, 2026
On August 3, Scott Thompson at the Retail Technology Innovation Hub published a piece anchored by an observation from Dr. Astha Purohit at Walmart, where she serves as Director of Product Management, Customer Data and Identity. The piece drew on the Fynd whitepaper on agentic commerce. That whitepaper documented a platform processing 1.6 million daily orders and an AI agent driving 40 percent revenue uplift. The most important line, however, was not about Fynd. It was a single observation from Purohit about what retail competition now looks like:

9 in 10 Retailers Say They Are Embedding AI Agents. The KPMG Report Also Shows Why Most of Them Are Not Getting the Returns.
ADRIANA RIVAS
August 01, 2026
That is not a contradiction. It is the most accurate description of where retail AI actually stands in 2026. The sector has crossed the threshold from experimentation to declared commitment. It has not yet crossed the threshold from declared commitment to sustained operational returns. The gap between those two thresholds is where most retail technology budgets are currently sitting, and it is the gap that determines whether the $50 million or more that most large retailers are now investing annually in digital technologies produces the $250 million in returns that the top performers are reporting, or produces a capability that looks like AI on paper and performs like a pilot in practice.

Retail Touch Points
July 29, 2026
An analysis of why most self-service deployments in retail stall after launch, and what separates operators who achieve real adoption from those who don't. The article covers the silent failure pattern that follows a successful go-live, the difference between a real pilot and a supervised demonstration, the decisive role store associates play in adoption, why a showroom kiosk doesn't behave the same way on the sales floor, and the right sequence for launching an initiative from scratch. Based on nearly two decades of implementing kiosks, POS systems, and digital signage across retail formats in the United States and Latin America.
