Consultants don’t always get it right

Quite a few years ago, I was asked to create and implement a new software development and project management process for a Fortune 10 corporation. They had already hired very expensive consultants to do so and the initiative failed miserably each time.

How a child’s path to college is like a family-run business.
LinkedIn
June 10, 2020
Most small businesses in America today start out with an owner that has an idea about how to make money. They start running the business themselves and wear all kinds of hats. The business grows and the owner is taking on more and more. As it evolves, the owner may incorporate family members to help along with hired employees.

Why am I confident of a rapid recovery?
LinkedIn
March 27, 2020
Facts are hard to come by during periods of crisis. Based upon my independent research and a little common sense, I believe the recovery will come much sooner and better than many expect. Here's why:

Most countries have instituted a form of "lock-down" and limited travel. For the most part, people are taking "social distancing" serious. Assuming they are, the spread of the virus should be slowing. If the incubation period, according to CDC, is between 5 - 14 days, we should know soon who and how many are infected. Let's get them isolated and healed. For those that are not infected, there will be pent up demand to restart rapidly.

Ultimate Leadership Development Guide
Rich Hall Group
October 29, 2020
One of the biggest gaps in the maturation of leaders is the lack of an effective leadership development
program. If you search “leadership development training” on Google, you get over 800M hits with
employee training spend in the billions of dollars. You would think someone would get it right. Yet very
few people can name a program that really was effective for them or their team and sustainable over
time.

Leadership development is tough and expensive. It is not a 3-day course that you can bring in-house and
expect to have Rockstar leaders. It requires training in multiple areas of employee development along
with ongoing coaching/mentoring over time.

Many training companies will try to turn their product into a leadership training program only to hit part of
the target with an ineffective solution. I know what it takes because I’ve been on both sides, product and
customer.
We discuss in-depth the following:
- Why most programs are ineffective.
- What is the best approach to develop leaders?
- Company specific training
- High-performing teams
- Personality assessments
- Mentoring/Coaching
and more...
