Quality, Cost, and Risk - but in what order?
LinkedIn
January 13, 2021
In early strategy discussions, the hardest part is often deciding what is the most important. Procurement tends to weigh the relative importance of factors such as quality, cost, and risk. Naturally, all three are important, but they can’t all be most important. It is impossible, for instance, to have the highest possible quality and the lowest available cost or the lowest possible cost with practically no risk.

These conversations, involving procurement, stakeholders, and budget owners, are highly nuanced, and the decisions made ultimately affect the sourcing project’s outcome.

LinkedIn
December 15, 2020
For better or worse, the days remaining in 2020 are quickly slipping away. Do I need a consultant or a consortium?
LinkedIn
November 11, 2020
Fast-growing emerging biotech companies are always strapped for talent and time. When it comes to bringing their spend and contracts under management, they commonly look to outside partners for support. Even once the decision has been made to bring in support, one question remains: which is better for us – a consultant or a consortium?

It is impossible to make categorical statements about which model is better since both have their strengths. Companies need to examine what they are looking for from their spend and supplier relationships and let that be the guide as to whether they partner with a consultant or join a consortium.
