Token swap is a process where tokens owned by some one on a public blockchain are swapped with tokens on another public blockchain; i.e. token holder gives up some tokens on first blockchain and will be given corresponding no of tokens on the second blockchain.
Since these are also programmatic crypto operations on public blockchains there is scope for fraud. This article gives security tips and suggestions to token holders. Though Zebi token swap is referred in the article, the same applies to all other token swaps also.

Initial Coin Offerings (ICO) is a event where a company crowd sources investments in crypto currency and in return issues equivalent number of crypto tokens to those individuals. ICO transactions are performed by software programs (called smart contracts) based on single factor authentication of signature verification without any human intervention and are irreversible. ICOs are done on public blockchain where there is full anonymity for account holders; so though it is known that an account has performed fraudulent transaction it is not feasible to track down who the account holder is or recover the amount involved. Hence there is lot of risk of fraud during ICOs; in last few years millions of dollars worth cryptocurrency was stolen by fraudsters across different ICOs.

On 5th September, a multistakeholder roundtable was organised to connect key stakeholders in India and Australia’s blockchain ecosystem and provide the stakeholders with an overview of the blockchain project. The roundtable included a preview of the results from our research so far in the first phase and case studies of non-crypto blockchain applications that highlight the importance of technical standards in both countries.

The Centre for Communication Governance (CCG) is collaborating with the Australian National University's Tech Policy Design Centre (TPDC) on a long-term, cross-disciplinary blockchain project. This collaboration is enabled by a bilateral strategic cooperation between India and Australia, namely the Australia India Cyber and Critical Technology Partnership ‘AICCTP’ program and is supported by the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
