Self-plagiarism: Academia’s uncomfortable integrity conversation
Linkedin
May 17, 2026
More than simply “reusing your own words”.
Universities devote enormous attention to plagiarism, academic honesty, referencing conventions, and ethical scholarship. Students are repeatedly reminded that copying the work of others without acknowledgement undermines academic integrity and intellectual credibility. Workshops are delivered, policies are embedded into curricula, and severe penalties are outlined for breaches of academic conduct. Feedback Shapes Learning
Linkedin
May 11, 2026
Assessment feedback remains one of the most influential elements of teaching and learning, yet it is also one of the most criticised. Within this paradigm, autism, ADHD, and related neurotypes are not framed as problems to be remediated, but as differences to be understood, accommodated, and respected. The focus therefore transitions from attempting to change the child to transforming the conditions in which the child learns, interacts, and develops .

Acculturating to University: ALL Together Now
IGI Global Newsroom
October 13, 2022
Students at the HE level should be capable—to varying degrees—of defending opinions, drawing inferences, evaluating facts, generating ideas, investigating situations, making comparisons, probing alternatives, questioning truisms, raising doubts, and solving problems, to mention but a few examples. Thus, students with under-developed academic skills will, in all likelihood, be challenged by the academic demands of post-secondary education.
