Misha Mittal is a global thought leader and urban systems strategist advancing a new vision for how cities can create a better future for people. Through her work with mayors, governments, international organizations, academia, investors, and industry, she synthesises her experiences to bring together diverse perspectives and shape political narratives on the challenges facing cities and societies. As the founder of Hikmah Group, she argues that the future of cities will not be defined by governance, technology or infrastructure, but by their ability to strengthen human relationships together. Her work challenges leaders to rethink not only how we build cities, but why we build them and for whom; recognizing that the most connected humans create the most connected communities, and ultimately, the most resilient and meaningful cities.

Accelerating Urban Transformation: Why Platforms like the project briefings in global dialogues matter to fast-track collaboration
Linkedin
September 04, 2025
A thriving city, like a perfect meal, is more than the sum of its parts. It is the result of countless ingredients—carefully sourced, ethically sustained, and expertly prepared—coming together in harmony. Yet too often, our urban “kitchens” remain fragmented: supply chains are disrupted, chefs work in isolation, and the recipe for resilient cities is misplaced. This is the implementation gap that defines much of today’s urban challenge.

Linkedin
July 10, 2025
Can your city survive the next climate disruption - or will it be left behind?

Achieving individual resiliency through COP28
Linkedin
November 30, 2023
What should we discuss in the next few days as #cities, #governments, #businesses, #communities and #individuals?

The answer is simple: we know where our world is today and what challenges lie ahead. At #COP28, we are all convening here from different parts of the world, bringing our first-hand experience of the impacts of #climatechange to chart our next steps. Our influence in every discussion as individuals is the key to designing and defining our course of action because we know what the future holds if we continue business as usual.

3 powerful techniques for unlearning
Linkedin

Sharing what I wrote in 2020 but never shared. Read further if the title resonates with something you need this year!

Eat all you can - is what comes to my mind as I start writing this. This is the age of hashtag#data and we are continuously progressing towards having everything around us data-based. But how much from this free information can we actually utilize? We know how to learn, but how much do we know about unlearning? There is hashtag#information that we consume because it is related to our hashtag#business, then there are areas of interest, information that resonates with your identity or sense of being, business and job opportunities, information shared through our extended connections and it goes on.

Public Space: The essence of a city
Linkedin
December 22, 2022
In 2012, I was working on hashtag#revitalising Penarth, a town near hashtag#Cardiff with a group of students from Cardiff University for Gwyrddio Penarth Greening. We came up with a strategy that could bring this town to life and activate the massively underutilised hashtag#highstreet. Through research and hashtag#publicparticipation process, we identified key elements that the community wanted to see in their town. Interestingly, hashtag#roads were not on their list, but hashtag#buses and hashtag#cycling were- aka the hashtag#publictransport.
