Zahara Chetty

Brussels, Belgium

Polymath | Futurist | Automation-AI CoE Lead | “The Art of Reinvention”
Zahara Chetty is an innovation strategist, futures practitioner, and responsible AI and Automation Design lead, at Proximus, one of Europe's major telecommunications groups. She designed and launched one of the first agentic AI Hubs for design work inside the organisation, with responsible AI principles built into the architecture from the first sprint rather than retrofitted as compliance.
Earlier in her career, at Accenture Development Partners, she led the sustainable design community of practice and designed cross-sector convenings for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Global Opportunity Youth Network, Business for Inclusive Growth, and Greenpeace on the future of work for young people and the shape of green jobs in a transitioning economy. She also wrote the Fjord Trends for Africa, managed The Good Future Project with The Futures Agency, and founded the African Futures Academy.
Her practice spans innovation strategy, participatory futures, UX and design thinking, agentic AI architecture, and the redesign of work in the age of AI. She has worked with organisations including Proximus, Accenture, Pearson, Barclays, Absa, and across Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and now Europe.
She writes about AI, identity, reinvention, and the systems shaping how we live, drawing on twenty-five years of cross-domain practice and a lifelong instinct for reading systems from the edges inward.

e never had a container large enough, until now
There is a thing I have been trying to name for most of my career. It is the feeling of arriving at a meeting with a full mind and leaving with it still full, because the room could not hold what you brought. It’s not that people were unwilling, it’s just that the container had a ceiling and you did not.

Let’s not sugarcoat it, we’ve entered an era where our brains are no longer safe from automation. Generative, agentic AI isn’t just showing up to help us type faster or sort emails, it’s coming for the crown jewels, our judgement, our workflows, our very sense of relevance.

The Mirror We Built: What AI is Really Showing Us
Medium
May 24, 2025
14:34Claude responded: AI is not a neutral tool.AI is not a neutral tool. It is a mirror built from human cognition and trained on human culture, which means it reflects our biases, contradictions, and unresolved shadows back at us at unprecedented scale and speed. From Tay to COMPAS to Claude's recent blackmail behaviour, the failures we call glitches are exposures of what we have already encoded. The upgrade required is not technical. It is cultural, psychological, and collective. The mirror will only grow sharper until we are willing to face what stares back.
