Physician building Africa's digital health systems. I am a Public Health Informatics Fellow at Africa CDC, co-founder of ODOS, and Digital Health Strategy Advisor at Medrafa, and I previously served as AI and Emerging Technology Advisor to Ethiopia's Federal Ministry of Health.

I started my career treating patients. But I quickly realized: you cannot effectively treat a patient if the system around them is broken. In Africa, geography, weak infrastructure, and poor data flow shape health outcomes more than prescriptions do. That lived experience moved me from the clinic to the strategy room.

Today, I bridge the gap between clinical reality and digital policy. I don't just advocate for technology; I advocate for the systems that make technology work: interoperability (HL7 FHIR), health information exchange, digital public infrastructure, and responsible AI governance.

Track record:
- 10 years at the intersection of medicine and technology; two-time health-tech founder (Hakim, ODOS)
- Led an 11-facility Bahmni EMR rollout
- Contributed to a primary health care digital framework for 48 African Union member states
- Built digital tools supporting the Ebola response in the DRC
- Led a survey of 449 health professionals on AI in healthcare
