The Compass: A dynamic tool to help end tick-box HR
HRZone
October 14, 2025
Summary: Most performance management systems aren’t working. HR is still using rigid frameworks that can’t keep pace with how people actually create value in fast-moving, AI-enabled teams. The Compass is a practical tool that tracks value creation across four interdependent dimensions: Self (resilience), Soul (meaning), Soft (execution), and Spirit (trust). Instead of asking ‘What skills do we have?’, you ask ‘Where are we creating value right now?’ The Compass helps you diagnose imbalances and redirect energy in real time, turning uncertainty from a threat into a resource for growth.

Why HRBPs Still Don’t Move the Needle: Metabolic Alignment with HR Archetypes Dynamics
Linkedin
August 12, 2025
Looking Within reframes today’s HR debate by shifting attention from structural reshuffles to the organisation’s psychological body. The article distinguishes a conscious layer (structures, rules, processes, competencies, behaviours) from an unconscious layer (imprints, trauma, shadow, unspoken values and the dominant “game” the system plays). It introduces HR Archetypes Dynamics: The Game–Shadow–Value Matrix (13×13), extending classic models to 13 developmental levels and 13 diagnostic factors, including the hormone–behaviour climate (e.g., cortisol for threat, dopamine for novelty/achievement).
By naming the prevailing unconscious game and developmental level, the model explains why HR often defaults to a firefighting archetype (the HRBP included): systemic inertia and metabolic misalignment pull HR back regardless of titles or frameworks. The proposed remedy is metabolic alignment—configuring or developing the HR archetype the system actually needs (typically one level ahead), and translating hidden patterns into practical levers for change and cost optimisation.
Part II will outline the diagnostic workflow and typical conflict loops; Part III will detail how to design metabolically aligned actions and build the HR Game-Change Leader archetype.

Stop the skills obsession: The six human states that drive real outcomes
HRZone
August 12, 2025
Have you jumped on the skills bandwagon? Most employers have. But skills alone won’t bring organisational success, warns Culture Transformation Leader Zhanna Zhuravleva. As AI increasingly picks up functional work, it's the human state – our lived experiences, attitudes and energy – that create the real value for organisations.

Spiritual Intelligence vs Intellectual Ghettos: Rethinking Leadership

March 09, 2026
Tomorrow marks the fifth week of my leadership course Awake Conscious Play, and by this point we are well beyond “learning leadership skills”. We are rewiring the architecture of perception itself: working with the body and nervous system, hacking mental programmes, stepping beyond the ego, touching non‑dual states and learning to shift the assemblage point so radically that the very same stream of events crystallises into a different reality around you.

The Marketplace of truths: AI, reality drift, and the crisis of choice

January 27, 2026
It was a statement about the nature of human truth. About how easily truth turns into a weapon. About how quickly “being right” becomes an excuse for destruction. About how instantly the world divides into “us” and “them”, and how painfully expensive it is to reclaim the ability to see a human being again.

The Assemblage Point: Why Rational Minds Still Create Limited Worlds
Linkedln
January 06, 2026
Yet in most management conversations, uncertainty is still described primarily as something external: “the market is unstable”, “the world is changing too fast”, as if it were a background that exists on its own and to which the leader merely reacts. This view misses the deeper nature of uncertainty as a phenomenon arising at the intersection of external processes and the inner mechanisms of consciousness through which this world becomes real for us in the first place.

I think this is more than a passing trend. It is the natural evolution of human consciousness. With the rise of AI and the turbulence of global crises, many are realising that the only sustainable anchor lies not in external certainty, but in the inner world: cultivating presence, clarity, and the courage to face one’s own shadows. Research supports this shift.

In the last article, we uncovered the unconscious game that moves through us and our organisations, explaining how an inertial HR archetype ends up winning -or losing-that invisible game. I outlined 13 game-levels and 13 shaping factors, and introduced metabolic alignment: diagnose the current level and archetype, adjust precisely, and assemble a target archetype that changes the game itself.

The HR discourse is boiling over. In the past weeks Perry Timms has launched The HR Operating Model— a must-read if you want to interrogate what’s really going on in our HR world. For the first time in many years, this book explores not only the external design of a system, but also the deep psychological context within an organisation - the very foundation of any architecture. It’s an approach that many authors and practitioners either overlook or fail to truly grasp

Last week there was an incredibly satisfying day for me and my team. We had just completed a challenging hiring project, and as we wrapped up, we all felt an incredible sense of happiness and fulfillment. We congratulated each other on a job well done, and in that moment, something special happened. We started sharing words of praise and encouragement, acknowledging each other's contributions and hard work. It was a beautiful moment that made me realize that this is the chemistry and magic that makes our team so great.

I recently re-analyzed the Theranos case, which was the biggest scam in the history of Silicon Valley startups. Of course, many factors converged in that story - the actual niche is health care (a hot topic for the US), the possibility of simplifying blood diagnostics and making it cheaper, and the brand of a young woman, as a new image of success, plus the growing popularity of Stanford.
