
James (Jamie) M. Popkin is formerly a Vice President and Gartner Fellow in Gartner's CIO research team. Mr. Popkin focuses his research on digital business transformation and data and analytics topics. He was formerly Chairman of Gartner's Orlando Symposium/ITxpo and Tokyo Symposium/ITxpo.
Mr. Popkin was formerly Group Vice President of the Business Intelligence and Information Management research group and was responsible for Gartner business development in China, India and Korea.
Mr. Popkin co-authored "IT and the East: How China and India are Altering the Future of Technology and Innovation" with Partha Iyengar, published April 2007 by Harvard Business School Press
Prior to joining Gartner, he was with the Deloitte & Touche LLP Information Technology practice. Mr. Popkin was named by ImagingWorld Magazine as one of the 50 most influential people in the industry.
Mr. Popkin has served as a board member of the Association for Image and Information Management (AIIM) International Board of Directors.
Mr. Popkin has broad experience in public speaking.
Mr. Popkin has a bachelor's degree in economics from Connecticut College, a master's degree in public policy from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a Certificate of Management from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
