Michelle AuCoin has been a leader in the field of education for nearly three decades. Michelle engages, inspires and challenges audiences. She is a candid and powerful speaker, educator, facilitator, writer, Director and program developer. She is passionate about learning, an advocate for disabilities, and has a
mission to provide support to families and children by making learning easier.

Michelle served as a contributor to the National Learning Disabilities Association of Canada (LDAC)'s manual "Roadmap for Employers on Learning Disabilities" and is credited in the publication. Michelle was one of the original Regional Coordinators of two National LDAC pilot projects: Destination Employment and
Destination Literacy. Both projects were designed to support potentially unidentified individuals with LD living in Canada. Michelle remains as a volunteer for the current LDAC National Research Committee.

At her last large speaking event in 2019, The Meeting of the Minds Conference in Sydney Nova Scotia, Michelle spoke to a sold out audience of parents, professionals and educators on Multi-Modal Interventions for Reading Disabilities - based on her research and her university publication. Michelle continues to
provide regular webinars, inservices and private workshops for parents, professionals and organizations. Her captivating speeches on her own disability and her knowledge of Learning Disabilities have secured her place as a prominent speaker in the field of diversity and inclusion. Michelle has developed a reputable, four-time award winning educational practice (LearnAbility Educational Solutions) which has produced thousands of successful students, training sessions and upgrading programs. LearnAbility ES supports students of all ages and grades, including post-secondary and trades programs. It also provides support for Indigenous children through Health Canada (Jordan's Principle). Michelle has helped families obtain equitable education, provided specialized one on one tutoring and training, and helped to reduce the stress of school issues for parents. Michelle helps companies, corporations and organizations collaboratively design supports for their staff with disabilities including accommodations and adaptations. She provides workshops for staff to understand and become allies. She helps customize corporate diversity and inclusion programs. Michelle and her team work with Councils and Associations in the Trades sector to deliver Upgrading programs in preparation for apprenticeship programs.

A graduate of Cape Breton University and Athabasca University, Michelle has a Bachelor of Arts Honours and a Masters Degree in Education. She has several other certifications in education including: the Nova Scotia Tutor Training Certificate, English As a Second Language, Laubach Literacy, Screening for Success
National Adult Learning Disabilities of Canada tool, Desination Literacy - Learning Disabilities Associatoin of Canada. Michelle has the full Lindamood training. Michelle is the recipient of the 2022 Schwartz Family Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce Businessperson of the Year Award (October 2022). She
is also the 2021 winner of the the Vital Award for Employers. She received the Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce Customer Service Award in 2013 and the 2012. Business Woman of the Year award with ECBC. She is a WBE certified diverse supplier and is recently certified by the IWSCC as a disability-owned business supplier.
