Dan Mapes is a Founder of VERSES TECHNOLOGIES INC (www.VERSES.io) - an advanced Artificial Intelligence and Spatial Networking company. He is also a founder and architect of THE SPATIAL WEB - the next generation of the Internet (Spatialwebfoundation.org) (IEEE Standard P2874). These two projects work together to deliver a new generation of globally networked, Smart Software Solutions for Businesses, Governments, Education and Health organizations. VERSES has offices in the US, Europe and Asia and is currently developing the Europe-wide Drone Management Standards for the European Commission. Dan also co-authored the best-selling book - The Spatial Web - and is often a keynote speaker on the impact of technology on business and society.
The Spatial Web enables the global networking of a new type of Artificial Intelligence called Active Inference AI based on the work of Dr. Karl Friston - the Chief Scientist of VERSES Technologies. VERSES enables AI as a Service which enables humanity to solve many seemingly intractable problems (climate management, advanced education projects, smart cities, global supply chains, new health initiatives, etc.).
Dan is a co-founder of the Silicon Valley Blockchain Society (SVBS) and co-chairman of the Los Angeles Chapter.
Dan is also the Founder and CEO of Cyberlab9.com - a Global Deep Tech Lab. Cyberlab has a research focus on IoT, Blockchain, Virtual Reality and AI. He has founded and sold multiple companies and is a board member and advisor to both startups and large corporations.
Cyberlab clients have included the UN, UNDP, UNESCO, the EU, Nobel Committee, Human Genome Project, Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, Gorbachev Foundation, Obama Campaign and multiple Global 1000 Corporations. He has also been a technology advisor to the governments of China, Brazil, Chile, Philippines and Australia and a New Media consultant to Apple, Intel, Shanghai Media and other technology and entertainment companies.
He previously founded eCity Studios (computer gaming) which was sold to VSI Holdings, Deep Light 3D Displays which was sold to Korea Display Group and Digital Motors (Advanced Object-Relational databases) which was sold to Arriba Software Corporation.
He has a deep interest in Meditation, Yoga and Peak Performance and is an avid sailor, diver and mountain biker. He is also committed to a sustainable environment and owns a 250 acre Permaculture Ranch in Santa Barbara that is powered entirely by solar.
