Musheer has been engaged in the financial services industry for 16 years, with a decade as a trader and last five years focused on Fintech. He has authored several articles and white papers on different subjects of Fintech, Blockchain and capital markets. Over the last few years, he hase been working closely with the Fintech industry in developing frameworks and growing the digital ecosystem in Hong Kong and APAC, including for the development of the Fintech regulations and policy. This involves regular interaction and working with regulators in Hong Kong and across Asia on Fintech and Digital Asset policy.
In his role as Co-founder & as inaugural General Manager (2017-2019) of FinTech Association of Hong Kong, he worked closely in with the Fintech teams at HKMA, SFC, Insurance Authority and Hong Kong government’s Financial Services & Treasury Bureau (FSTB), to facilitate industry and regulator/ government interaction. He has also led the development of multiple reports, including first global white paper on guidance for token sales, reports on Fintech in the Greater Bay Area, regulatory response to HKMA on Open APIs and Virtual Banking Licenses, and regulatory approach for fintech for alternative finance.
He is also a contributing writer for MEDICI Global (www.gomedici.com), a leading Fintech research firm with over 200,000 subscribers and 2 million page views a month. Published articles include on topics of Fintech and Financial Inclusion, Wealth Management for the Underserved, Islamic Finance and Islamic Fintech, How American Tech Giants Are Applying the TechFin Playbook to India and Use of Blockchain For Enhancing Transparency in Financial Services.
He is a keynote speaker at large regional and global fintech conferences and has spoken at over 100 events over the last few years. In addition, he has also been featured in a host of industry podcasts on Fintech, RegTech, Digital Assets and Innovation.
