PRESENTATION SUMMARY
This session is designed for people who want to improve the results of their conference or event investment. They may be attending a given conference for the first time, or one they have attended many times before. Leveraging the most effective preparation, on site actions and follow up afterwards provides a methodology for the best return.
In her talk, “Found Money” Jamie Crump looks at the opportunities often missed when attending business development, networking, and education and training conferences. This presentation gives audience members a look at the opportunities presented at these events over and above what is on the schedule. She then provides practical tips for getting the most return on investment to ensure there is no money left on the table.
DESIRED ACHIEVABLE STATE
Conferences and training events are an expensive investment. Whether people are paying for it themselves or the cost is covered by their company, they rarely get the optimal return on the investment.
Understanding what goes on behind the scenes in the planning and execution of a conference event helps audience members understand the business opportunities that are not laid out in the published agenda. Crump identifies where they are and how to best ensure all opportunities are leveraged. This allows attendees to make the most of their time spent.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE
By the end of the presentation, audience members will:
• Understand the five items needed to assess the opportunity of an event
• Receive the six essential tips on activities on site that can provide the most productive return
• Identify the four elements of research and preparation before and after the event that will ensure their encounters will be remembered.
