Application of Blockchain Technology to Improve an Engineering Process
Alex Basso
June 20, 2019
This report studies the Blockchain Technology and explores further applications by testing the technology’s suitability in the engineering field. A Private Blockchain—, which includes multiple nodes, addresses, assets and transactions –is created in order to simulate a real-world application. The application simulates a decentralized ledger of a car’s life, which contains contracts, accident forms, maintenance forms, etc. This simulation uses features provided by the Private Blockchain ecosystem such as streams and keys to organise all documents and information related to a specific car. Through the simulation, the project proves the technology’s advantages both technical and practical and its capacity to improve an engineering process. Additionally, a user-friendly interface is created to allow basic user interaction with the Blockchain.
