Lynnaire Johnston

Owner at Link•Ability

Dunedin, New Zealand

Lynnaire Johnston is a LinkedIn® strategist, author, speaker, trainer and podcast host who specialises in strategic visibility, professional authority and AI-driven discoverability.

Based in New Zealand and working with clients internationally, Lynnaire positions senior leaders, executives, consultants, business owners and organisations to be visible, credible and discoverable – both on LinkedIn and in the AI-powered search environments increasingly influencing professional decisions.

Her work is built on the understanding that professional visibility is no longer simply a matter of attracting attention or generating social media engagement. It requires a clear, credible and consistent body of evidence that allows the right people – and the systems informing them – to understand who someone is, what they know and why their expertise matters.

Through her company, Link?Ability, Lynnaire provides strategic LinkedIn profile positioning, thought-leadership and content programmes, networking strategy, one-to-one coaching, team training, company page assessments and strategic visibility reviews. She is also the creator of the Link?Ability Blueprint, a practical framework encompassing the essential elements of sustainable professional visibility: positioning, publishing, networking and momentum.

Lynnaire is the author of *Link?Ability: 4 powerful strategies to maximise your LinkedIn success* and co-author, with Michelle J Raymond, of *Business Gold: Build Awareness, Authority and Advantage with LinkedIn Company Pages*. Her work combines long-standing expertise in LinkedIn strategy with ongoing research into discoverability, digital authority, professional reputation and the ways in which artificial intelligence interprets and presents information about people and organisations.

She hosts *The Visibility Advantage*, a podcast exploring what it takes to build strategic presence in a world being reshaped by AI. Through interviews, commentary and practical analysis, the podcast examines how expertise becomes recognised, how professional authority is established and how leaders can make their value easier for the right audiences to find and understand.

Lynnaire is also the founder of the Link?Ability Members’ Community, where professionals receive current LinkedIn intelligence, strategic guidance, practical resources and opportunities to develop their visibility in a supportive environment. Her wider educational work includes webinars, workshops, livestreams, articles, newsletters, videos and regular analysis of LinkedIn developments and their implications for senior professionals and organisations.

Her approach is evidence-led, practical and deliberately human. Rather than treating LinkedIn as a collection of tricks, algorithms or short-term tactics, she focuses on creating durable professional assets, meaningful relationships and a coherent body of expertise across profiles, content, websites, company pages, media appearances and other trusted sources.

A career spanning radio, publishing, writing and professional communication has given Lynnaire a deep understanding of how ideas are shaped, communicated and remembered. She brings that experience to her work with people whose expertise is substantial but whose digital presence does not yet represent the full value of what they know.

At the centre of Lynnaire’s work is a simple objective: positioning valuable people so they can be found by the right people, at the right moment.

They are not receiving the approaches, referrals or opportunities they expect. Their LinkedIn content is reaching fewer people. Their profile views have declined. Other people with apparently less experience seem to be attracting more attention.

What is LinkedIn actually for now?
Linkedln
September 07, 2026
You built a professional profile. You connected with people you knew – or wanted to know. Recruiters searched for candidates. Jobseekers searched for jobs.

Then things became considerably more complicated.

LinkedIn became a publishing platform. A video platform. A learning platform. A place for newsletters, events and thought leadership. Companies use it for marketing and recruitment. Salespeople use it for prospecting. Professionals use it to establish expertise. Increasingly, AI is changing how people, jobs and information are found.

What if we’re thinking about LinkedIn profiles all wrong?
Linkedln
August 31, 2026
For years, I’ve thought about a LinkedIn profile primarily as a destination. Someone finds you, arrives on your profile and looks through it to decide who you are, what you know and whether you're relevant to them.

So best practice for creating a good profile looked like this: Start with a professional photo and banner. Write a strong headline. Make the About section compelling. Add evidence of your expertise further down.

Want to be found by AI? Your visibility needs to start now
Linkedln
August 24, 2026
Last week I noticed that someone I didn’t know had looked at my LinkedIn profile. I sent her a connection request and, when she accepted, we started talking.

It turned out she was organising a conference and looking for someone to present at it and potentially run a workshop for members of her association. Naturally, I wanted to know how she’d found me.

Seriously, LinkedIn – What Are You Doing?
Linkedln
August 10, 2026
LinkedIn has become simultaneously more important and more difficult to navigate. Organic reach has fallen. Paid visibility is becoming more prominent. New features appear, disappear or reach different members at different times. And those of us who have spent years encouraging professionals to build their presence on the platform are increasingly being asked a blunt question:
