This hands-on workshop brought together the Western Digital supply chain control tower team to design the next generation of its global control tower capability. Led by James Lisica, the session focused on translating the concept of a digital control tower into a practical operating model that could deliver real-time visibility, faster decision-making, and stronger coordination across complex global supply networks.
Working sessions explored the critical building blocks of an effective control tower, including data architecture, end-to-end visibility, exception management, predictive insights, and the integration of advanced technologies such as AI and digital twins.
Participants collaborated to define how a modern control tower should function as the “nerve center” of the supply chain enabling teams to sense disruptions earlier, orchestrate responses across the network, and support more proactive and intelligent operations.
By the end of the workshop, the team had developed a clearer blueprint for a next-generation global control tower capable of improving situational awareness, strengthening resilience, and enabling more coordinated decision-making across Western Digital’s supply chain ecosystem.
