How to Get into Project Management Without Direct Experience
Linkedin
July 07, 2026
Many professionals assume they need years of project management experience before anyone will hire them as a project manager. In my experience, that’s one of the biggest misconceptions in the profession. I’ve worked with organizations for decades, and I’ve seen talented people transition into project management from operations, engineering, finance, sales, healthcare, and countless other fields. The secret is recognizing that you’ve probably been managing projects all along, even if your job title didn’t say so.

June 30, 2026
Over the years, I have stopped thinking about Agile and Waterfall as competing philosophies. That shift changes more than delivery speed… it changes my role as a project manager.
