I've spent nearly two decades in the HR industry. I started as a Human Resources Assistant and worked my way into the boardroom as the founder and CEO of an HR firm.
In 2011, I launched Jumpstart HR to give startups and small businesses the senior, US-based HR support they couldn't hire full-time. What began as a single-client consulting practice now supports hundreds of growing companies across four continents — running HR for teams that don't have one and backing up the teams that do.
That front-line work is what makes our research different. Through Jumpstart HR Research (formerly Aspect43), we publish independent, vendor-neutral HR technology market intelligence — benchmark studies like Insights@Work, category guides, and buyer frameworks such as B.R.I.D.G.E. and the Five Workforces. Every report is grounded in what's actually working for the HR teams we serve, so leaders, vendors, and investors can act on it with confidence.
I share what I learn beyond the research, too — as author of The Power of HR (Kogan Page, 2025) and host of Joey's HR Lounge, a podcast and community where HR thinks out loud.
