Love on the Spectrum: The Power of Being Specific
Jane Anderson
August 25, 2021
My favourite TV show of late is Love on the Spectrum. I just love it. It’s an ABC series about a group of adults on the autism spectrum that is looking for love. It’s lovely, sweet and fills me with optimism about the world. One of the participants is Michael (you can see Michael and his family here), who is such an absolute gentleman. Unlike me, where I might keep my intimate thoughts to myself, Michael shares them openly and unreservedly. It’s truly beautiful.

The Best CRM To Use As A Solopreneur

One of the questions that I get asked the most in my communities is what CRM to use. This is an excellent question because your customer relationship management system is the heart of your practice – it’s what helps you make sense of your interactions with your clients, and ensures you’re giving them the best service possible.

The problem with this question is that it looks at the CRM in isolation. But your CRM is only a part of what you actually need as a thought leader or expert.

Why You Should Publish Content on LinkedIn
Jane Anderson
December 06, 2020
In Content Club, someone recently asked me if she should publish content on LinkedIn. She believed, as many do, that her content would serve her better on her own blog, or other social media platforms.

This is a great question. Many people do spread themselves a bit too thin on social media platforms, posting everywhere, all the time. Adding LinkedIn can feel like the nail in the coffin and just another thing to do. And because it’s a professional networking site, LinkedIn can also be quite an intimidating place to begin to publish and post. Many people feel more comfortable staying on Facebook or Instagram, for example.

On the 26th of January 2019, my now-fiancé Mark decided he would propose. He told me that we were going to spend the day at Whitehaven Beach, in the Whitsundays. The only way to get over to the beach was by boat.

As the day went on we became fast friends, so of course, we connected on Facebook and Mark and I told them that if they needed anything while they were here to get in touch.

How to Measure Content Marketing Performance
Jane Anderson
November 04, 2020
When you’re posting content it’s easy to get caught in the vanity metrics around likes, comments and shares. And when you start looking at these to measure your content marketing performance it’s equally easy to wear yourself out trying to create more and more content, as you continue to chase more likes, comments, and shares.
Neil Patel, an expert on content marketing, has written extensively on measuring content marketing performance… but when he mentions likes, comments and shares, it’s only as a small metric among a much larger analytic strategy. And that’s because while social metrics are valuable, they’re certainly not the be all end all.

The Power of the Prolific Expert (What is Prolific and How to Get There)

Tori Amos is a singer-songwriter, composer and accomplished pianist from the US. She began composing music on the piano by the time she was three years old. At the age of five she was admitted to the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University with a full scholarship, the youngest person ever to be invited to attend. Interestingly, she was expelled at the age of 11 for ‘musical insubordination’, which may be a foreshadow to some of her musical choices later in her career.

Tori’s incredibly talented and incredibly well-regarded in the music industry, having received five MTV VMA nominations and eight Grammy Award nominations along with numerous other award throughout her long music career. Part of the reason she’s earned so many awards is because she’s released an astounding 15 albums since the age of 17, making her one of the most prolific artists around.

Catalyst Content: How to Create a World-Class Piece of Thought Leadership in Less Than 10 Minutes and Leverage it 99 Ways
Janeandersonspeaks.com
August 14, 2020
Since 2017 the content marketing industry has shifted from a $165 billion dollar industry to a $300 billion dollar industry. The explosion of social media platforms and increase in the number of people consuming content means the average business owner is struggling to keep up with keeping connected to their customers and finding ways to stay in front of them without being spammy.

Equally within organisations, leaders are having to communicate with people in more leveraged ways. Millions of dollars are being spent on installing intranet platforms to increase collaboration and lead people through change by keeping people connected and informed, however most leaders struggle to find the time or are unsure of how to share their ideas, insights and thoughts. In fact, many have the fear that what they have to say and how they say it isn’t good enough, clever enough or that it will damage their reputation.

Today, to shift a person’s behaviour they generally need 10 pieces of content. Within the next 5 years it is expected that this will be over 20 pieces of content. Content creation is no longer a marketing function, it’s a business owner’s and leader’s capability. Your audience wants to hear what YOU think.

This book is designed to help you to:

Gain clarity about your content and what messages you should be delivering to your audience to lead change
Identify powerful stories that engage and inspire your audience to take action
When to use the most appropriate media including video, audio and written media for the most impact
Discover the best platforms for influential communication, from social media to intranet and news media
Explore ways to increase your productivity, quality and volume of content created
Uncover ways to overcome the vulnerability of sharing your thoughts, fear of what people think and have the courage to share your ideas

IMPACT: How to Build Your Personal Brand For the Connection Economy
Janeandersonspeaks.com
March 19, 2015

Discover how to create “corporation you” without being a tall poppy

We’re no longer in the industrial or information age. We’re now in the connection economy. The economy where you’re ability to stand out, connect with others and position yourself in your career and business mean security. It means you won’t be left behind but instead ahead of the pack.

Companies and governments don’t want people who want jobs for life any more. They want innovation, ideas and networks to thrive in volatile economic times. We are bombarded with information and choices every day. Hard work alone doesn’t cut it anymore.

The future is changing…… fast.

Whether you’re a job seeker frustrated with your job search, trying to climb the corporate ladder or a service provider, a lack of clarity and communicating your personal brand will see others get the opportunities you want. You’ll be looked overlooked, frustrated and lost. Your confidence drops and you take lower paying jobs, lower paying clients and settle for less. How do I know? I did exactly that myself.

So, it’s time to cut through the clutter….

By the end of this book you’ll be feeling more confident about what your greatest gift is and not afraid to stand out from the crowd. You’ll know what people want to hear when you’re trying to sell yourself and what to say to them without feeling arrogant or cocky. Your confidence will amplify and you’ll be inspired to level up. People will be asking you “I want what you’re having!”
