Integrating AI without surrendering humanity

People are starting to crave distance from technology
It is a natural response to overload. Because we asked for AI everywhere, & now we have it everywhere
No matter how much we advance technologically, we should remain thinkers & curious because human curiosity is beautiful

AI, dating apps, and the future of human connection
https://tomorrowsaffairs.com/
February 15, 2026
As Australian John Paul Young wrote in his 1977 song, "Love Is in the Air", or Elton John's "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?", Valentine's weekend has arrived, and conversations about love fill our timelines.
This piece was overdue, as we cannot ignore how AI s also reshaping dating apps in 2026.
Love has always evolved with culture, and now it is evolving with code.
We are living through new moments in the relationship between AI and human connection.
Dating apps are not new, and neither is AI in dating apps. What is new is the scale, sophistication, and influence of algorithmic decision-making in one of the most emotional areas of life.
To understand the impact, we need to look at how we got here.

Legacy leadership in a time of change
https://tomorrowsaffairs.com/
January 04, 2026
A few leadership shake-ups are happening in 2026. One of the first is that Warren Buffett has officially stepped down as CEO of Berkshire Hathaway after six decades.
Time catches up with every leader, and some of the greatest CEOs are retiring and passing the reins to new leaders. It is the closing of an era and the opening of another.
In the past, legacy leadership was associated with longevity, tenacity, stability, and an almost legendary presence at the top.
Legacy leadership is very different now, particularly in innovation and technology. The dilemma for leaders as 2026 approaches is what they leave behind.

A single step towards better safety for humans
https://tomorrowsaffairs.com/
August 10, 2025
Imagine waking up and finding a video of yourself saying things you never said.
That’s the reality deepfakes have made possible, and Denmark is ready to fight back.
The story is that Denmark is making history. They are the first country to push forward a bill focused entirely on protecting human identity in the age of AI.
This law aims to give people the legal power to go after anyone who uses their image, voice, or likeness without consent.

3 Apps for Mental Health. Tech is not good or bad, it’s what we put into it
https://tomorrowsaffairs.com/
August 03, 2025
Although I always celebrate technology and innovation, today, I want to talk about the moments where tech doesn't uplift, and instead, it isolates, damages, and, in some cases, destroys lives.
Over the past years, we've seen a rise in conversations about the dark side of AI. We've also explored the need to raise our voices, to speak out, and to use platforms for good. This piece is a continuation of that journey.
Because while AI has transformed how we communicate and even care for one another, it has also been weaponised in subtle and devastating ways. One unfortunate fact we need to accept is that our connected world isn't always a safe one, especially for the most vulnerable among us.

Behind every innovation, there's a human being

My dear Wimbledon, this year I tuned in to watch you with a bit of sadness, knowing what was to come.
The line judges, those incredible, silent, poised custodians of the game, were officially gone. Replaced by Hawk-Eye Live, a system of high-speed cameras, their absence became one of the most talked-about aspects of the tournament.
And not for the right reasons. This moment at Wimbledon has changed the course of history. When technology begins to erase the people who helped shape the soul of a sport, we need to take a moment to remember why we play and why we watch in the first place.

If you can’t prove it’s yours, is it really?
https://tomorrowsaffairs.com/
July 13, 2025
Can I protect the work I've made with AI? It's a fair question, and what most people don't realise is that ownership in the AI space isn't guaranteed. Then again, is anything ever guaranteed in life?
In a piece I wrote last month, "Unpacking Digital Rights. Who Really Owns Your Digital Twin?" I looked at how digital identities are becoming commodities and who owns these digital versions of us.
Today, I want to zoom in on an equally important issue, which is AI and copyright. Who owns what? What can you protect? And what happens if you get it wrong?

People First, Always. AWS and the GenAI Mindset That’s Shaping the Future
www.elisequevedo.com
June 19, 2025
If you want to future-proof your business, don’t just look at your tech stack; look at your people.
That’s the main lesson I took from AWS at London Tech Week 2025 (LTW). I’ve attended countless tech events over the years, but there’s something impactful about a global brand like Amazon Web Services (AWS) showing up with innovation and intention. The focus wasn’t just GenAI - which was the focus of 99% of LTW - it was GenAI with a human mindset.

Unpacking Digital Rights. Who Really Owns Your Digital Twin?
www.elisequevedo.com
June 13, 2025
So, let's reflect here. How often are we giving up our digital rights? And what does it really mean when an app or activation asks for our photo, our likeness, or even lets us “create our digital twin”?

Are we using technology to elevate our lives or to escape from them?
https://tomorrowsaffairs.com/
April 06, 2025
Scrolling through my feed a few days ago, I noticed some content tagged with #RawDogging. Let me explain if you missed this trend when it first made waves last year. It refers to travelling without using technology, with no maps, translation apps, or curated playlists, just a person, the world, and the unknown. This trend has a few variations, but the essence is the same.
It might sound edgy at first, but isn't that how travel used to be? We walked around, got lost, asked for directions, joked, and gained knowledge.
Before contemporary technology took over, many of us lived that pure, unfiltered existence; it wasn't a fad. How, then, did something so fundamental turn into a novelty? Why has it become a countercultural act to simply be in the moment?

The Dark Side of AI

March 16, 2025
It's not all sunshine and rainbows in the AI world. The Dark Side of AI is real and we need to educate more from a younger age to prevent malicious actions.
It's not about tech being bad, it is the humans behind it that make the choices of how to use it.

AI, Privacy, and the Looming Security Crisis: Who’s Protecting Our Data?
https://tomorrowsaffairs.com/
February 09, 2025
Last week, I mentioned our technological strides in my article about DeepSeek's R1 large language model (LLM). However, as we embrace these advancements, a pressing concern looms: what do these new LLMs and AI technologies mean for our privacy and security?
We must ask the question, what about our data? Who will regulate what information is taken? We can all agree that AI's allure is undeniable. Yet beneath this shiny exterior lies a potential minefield for our personal information.
It can feel like a magician's trick sometimes: look over here so you don't see what I'm doing over there. LLMs ingest vast amounts of data to function effectively, but this data often includes sensitive personal information, which is what raises significant privacy concerns.

How to deal with online haters/trolls
YouTube
April 05, 2024
Once a year, I reshare an article I wrote back in 2021 titled:
“How to deal with online haters and trolls”
And of course, thank my collaborators at the time, David Calle, Glen Gilmore, Tamara McCleary, and Ralph Echemendia. All shared their words of wisdom on this topic.
It is public knowledge that if you are in the public eye, the haters, trolls, and bullies will end up in your DMs, comments, or emails at some time or another.
I have always been a big advocate of promoting being a person of honesty, integrity, and value, being authentic to who you are, and being a voice of strength for those who may not be or feel as strong as I do in a specific moment in their life.
