GDPR Certification; just around the corner
LinkedIn
July 09, 2019
The GDPR certification shall be based on rules provided by the legislation itself, accompanied by the additional requirements of the DPAs. It is not a silver bullet guaranteeing you won't be breached or fined, but when DPAs knock your door, having it makes a big difference in mitigating the risk to get fined.

Global Rules for Cyberspace: The cost of non-cooperation
LinkedIn
June 02, 2019
No matter how you look at it, the Cybercrime actors have been pioneers in establishing an informal cooperation on a global scale, whereas state actors have been kept a protectionist stance.

What lies ahead for the future of cyber cooperation

Unless Nations join in a 'Musketeers pact' - one for all, all for one - and soon, fighting Cybercrime will continue to be like the myth of the Lernaean Hydra. For every head chopped off, the Hydra would regrow two heads. Heracles had to cooperate with his cousin Iolaus to cut off all of the monster's heads and burn the neck using sword and fire.

One way or another, it has become evident that Nations must cooperate, compelled to take this course of action by the pressing realities and the heavy cost of non-cooperation. Much like the alliance and information sharing we have seen between former cold war adversaries, that had to work together to fight terrorism.
The Internet needs international rules based on universal values and democratic principles, whilst keeping a checks and balances system.

Digital Transformation; a future proof approach
LinkedIn
June 19, 2019
Late management guru Peter Drucker once said: “Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” The journey of digital transformation, is not just about technology.

Many authors since then used this quote in analogy to digital transformation. But what many missed, is that culture is not an enemy. A corporate culture that proved successful in the analogue world, must be the yeast for its digital culture.

Digital transformation is all about adaptation. A digital culture is about evolution. Whilst bringing new elements, it shall keep the core elements of what made a corporate culture successful.
