Good advertising is promoting a product that you believe in because of how good it really is and constantly learning from consumers how to make it better. I think digital media is the best soil for this philosophy. This is why I love being a Digital Marketing Professional.

How marketers track Consumers

Digital marketers are allowed to target consumers online, as long as the individual’s personally identifiable information is stripped and/or protected. Marketers do so by leveraging trackable interactions coupled with data points from your electronic devices, app and browser data. They leverage these to track what consumers are looking at, what they interact with and buy. Having these data points allows marketers to make a better decision about what products to feature and what offers are more relevant to users with varying degrees of confidence. The degree of confidence is measured by two main categories; Probabilistic and Deterministic Modeling.

People need to stop perpetuating hate. Highlighting a few racist Republicans doesn't mean they all are, just as highlighting a few violent Democrat protestors doesn't mean all Democrats are violent. If you keep posting things that demonize folks that don't belong to your party, you are part of the problem.

Were the Election “Big Data” Polls wrong?

When I was a kid we had a blackout in the middle of a Mighty Mouse episode. I was 6 the time and had just seen my dad use a movie projector and assumed the television worked in a similar way. Not owning a flashlight, I threw a tantrum trying to get my dad to fix the TV by shining a candle behind it. I used partial information and came with a hypothesis that was wrong. There wasn’t anything wrong with what I observed, I just didn’t know that film projectors worked differently than Televisions until I dissected one at the age of 12.

Anyone who asks me about my feelings about Apple computers will get a succinct lecture about Apple selling you 3-year-old hardware with a beautiful exterior at double the price of a comparable PC. I’ve never liked either Macintosh or Windows machines enough to dish out $3K for either, until now.
